Marine Mammal Commission

2020 Annual Meeting

***Postponed Until Further Notice***

The Commission’s 2020 Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana will focus on marine mammal science and management issues specific to the Gulf of Mexico. The meeting topics will include an overview of the oceanographic and ecologic characteristics of the region, impacts to marine mammals after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill of 2010, restoration funding and other mechanisms to address management needs, and discussions of the science, management, and threats facing bottlenose dolphins, endangered Gulf of Mexico Bryde’s whales, manatees, and other offshore marine mammals.

Due to concerns regarding COVID-19, the Marine Mammal Commission has decided to postpone its Annual Meeting, originally scheduled for 28-30 April in New Orleans until further notice. We will be investigating rescheduling options and will announce new meeting dates as soon as we have them.

Updates will be posted to this page when available.
